Visitor visa rejected for wife

Hello,

I am a PR in Canada and applied for a visitor visa for my wife. In the application, we did not provide any tie that shows my wife will leave Canada. So we got this message in the refusal letter:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and
in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

My wife has a job (she is a nurse) in Iran, and we can get a letter from the employer to prove it.
Should I request reconsideration? What should I mention there? For example, if we say we are applying for spouse sponsorship for my wife, and she does not have a reason to stay illegally in Canada when she can get her PR in one year. She will return to Iran at the end of the visa period and wait for the PR decision.

I would appreciate it if you could help me.

I would recommend you reapply. It sounds like you didn't put together a strong enough application.

Include a letter confirming her employment and also provide pay stubs. Your wife should also ideally show savings and property ownership, if she has any. If she has past travel to countries requiring visas such as the UK or US, she should show this as well.

How long a trip did you request?

Yes, my application was not strong enough.
I was talking to someone with a similar experience. She sent a reconsideration request with some explanation and additional documents in December 2021. She got her visa in Feb 2022.
In the first application, I made many mistakes, because we thought getting a visitor visa for a wife is easy, for example, for the trip duration we requested 1 year. I want to clarify it in the reconsideration and say the requested time was because we were applying for sponsorship PR, her plan is to stay 1 month as a visitor and come back to Canada again after getting her PR.

If you asked for a visit of a year then it is no surprise the visa was refused. You can certainly try asking for reconsideration. However I think the chances this is going to work are low give how much you are changing in your application (including length of visit). You'll most likely need to reapply eventually.

It also looks like you may have gotten married and applied for sponsorship relatively recently. TRVs for spouses of PRs and citizens were previously very difficult to get but have gotten easier during Covid. It does seem easier to get further on in the sponsorship process or if your application has faced delays due to Covid. Still not guaranteed especially if application is not strong.

Hello everyone , am sorry for writing herer as am new to this forum , am note sure how to write a new thread , I need help please , basically I applied for a vistor visa as my husband is Canadian , and I got a refusal stating these reasons :

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

• Your husband should submit a sponsorship application for you.

So now we are planning to apply for the sponsorship first then re-apply for the visitor visa again but as for the first 2 reasons , am just wondering how respond to them knowing that Im working a part time job and am the only one living with my parents.

Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Thanks for your response. I sent a reconsideration request including some supporting documents. I hope they accept it. If not I will reapply.

Yes, agree with you. I tried to make it stronger by including some additional documents. It's not guaranteed as you said, but I hope they accept it this time.
