Dear All ,

I have applied for a visitor visa ( i want to stay for 3 weeks ) , My brother is a Canadian Citizen and sent me a letter of invitation .. I have provided everything i could , yet , the application was refused because of the following reasons :

* Family Ties in Canada and in country of residence.
* Purpose of visit
* Current employment situation

I live with my both parents in Kuwait , I am an engineer in one of the biggest companies in Kuwait and supporting my family as well but don't know how to show this. I have provided a letter from my employer as well as approved leave form from my company which states i have X days of leave.

The purpose for visit is to see my brother whom i did not see for 2 years and to meet my neice for the first time since she was born , as well as visit Canada as a tourist.

My parents and my youngest brother ( 14 Yrs old ) have been granted a super visa for 3 years in 2012 and then they applied again and got 3 years for 2018.

What's you suggestions for such a case ? What can i do to prove the genuinity of my application ? will this affect me if i want to pursue my masters ? or to migrate to Canada in the future ?

Appreciate your inputs here ( SCylla / Brayyanna and others. ...

Thanks !

Hi,

Can you please share the list of documents that you submitted

Have your parents + younger brother stayed/currently staying in Canada on super visas?

How do you support your family?

Apart from your employment, do you have other family in Kuwait + lease agreement/property ownership? Have you traveled to the US/UK/Schengen, etc countries?

Cheers

As your parents and younger brother have super visas (and a history of having visited each year), the visa officer probably believes that they could visit/stay for longer duration + around the time when you intend to visit.... in which case, your family ties in Canada will outweigh those in Kuwait.

If your parents visited during school holidays each time then you may want to highlight this point in your Cover Letter.

You may also want to mention that your parents will NOT accompany you because of their professional/personal commitments (with proofs) + proofs that your younger brother cannot visit Canada presently because of his school exams (?) = you are visiting alone = your family ties in Kuwait will be stronger

As for proving your ties to Kuwait:
Employment: Your employment letter + salary slips + 2 years ITRs + leave approval letter stating you'll have your job when you return + include a *must return by date* with proofs + any recognition at work/possible promotion or salary increase/appraisals/training in the near future

Family: Evidence your parents/brother live with you at the same address + proofs you pay the rent and living expenses (highlight these transactions in your bank statements + your credit card statements) + proofs you pay your brother's school tuition

Power of Attorney: Copy translated into English by a certified translator (if required) + evidence where you have represented your dad for any matter

Other ties:
Is the rent agreement in your name?

Car ownership papers + recent taxes paid for it + if you did not take a loan/paid off the loan to buy it then highlight this point to show good financial situation

Keep your visit to 2-2.5 weeks.... and that too around any statutory holidays and explain this is why you can take 2-2.5 weeks off work.

Prepare a day-by-day detailed itinerary with expense estimates. Google will help you. Prove you have the finances to pay for this itinerary + airfare + other expenses.

Any other commitments or responsibilities that you have in Kuwait?

When you reapply, please ensure you do not use words like *I want to stay/live/reside in Canada*.

Yes, you must mention + submit a copy of the previous TRV refusal when you reapply (and for any future visa/PR applications)

Hi Azad,

As you have already applied, you'll have to wait for the decision. NDVO has the shortest average processing time. So you can expect to hear from this visa office quite soon.

It's difficult to guess the outcome of your TRV applications. IMO you should have applied from a country where you have immigration status (and not temporary visitor status) because this makes it difficult to convince the visa officer that you have strong ties to your home/country of residence.

What will work in your favour is the fact that you have visited Canada twice earlier and the US too. What may not work in your favour is you have applied for TRVs with your family this time vis-a-vis your previous two visits to Canada for business purposes. Hope you have demonstrated very strong ties to Belgium and Bangladesh

Hope for the best :)

Hi Bryanna, thanks for your advise. As currently I am staying in Nepal as a visitor,so definitely I have to show it as my current residence. But I have shown my earlier residence as Belgium also (as I staying in Belgium as a temporary resident since last two years along with my whole family).Yes,you are right.I have demonstrated very strong supporting documents which is belongs to tie of Bangladesh & Belgium.I don't think that current country of residence immigration status would be effect at all.FYI as a tourist visitor in UK,I applied to obtain US B1/B2 Visa & finally got where I did not have any UK residency.Yes,I am worried your other point which can be effect. In that case,is there any possibility, they can approve my own TRV & refused other or they will refuse whole of us?

Hope for the best :)

All three scenarios are possible:
a. You and your family are issued TRVs together
b. Only you are issued a TRV
c. All are denied TRVs

It's impossible for any of us to guess the decision without knowing the complete facts. You'll probably get a decision within a few days/a week (if NDVO does not seek additional information from external sources)

Hope for the best :)
