Hi everyone, wondering if anyone can provide insight:

I'm gonna apply (represent) my sister for a TRV along with her husband. She has two Canadian visas refused (2007 & 2017) and a US denial in 2021. Her husband had a Canadian visa refused in 2017 and US in 2021.
For the Canadian refusal reason in 2017, they noted:
-"you have not satisfied me you would leave Canada at the end of your stay"
-They checked off: "current employment situation" and "personal assets and financial status"
-"You have not satisfied me you have sufficient funds...to carry your stated purpose in going to Canada".

I'm wondering:
1- what do they mean by "current employment situation"? She had provided work letter at that time.
2- I'm a Canadian citizen and will write an invitation letter, provide my work letter and my husband's, does this help? Can I say I would like to pay for her travel tickets? They would be staying with me, so no cost with accomodation
3- What's a reasonable/expected amount of $$ per week of stay in Canada as per IRCC?
4-They want to come to visit and has zero intention of staying, what's the best approach to this? Does paying an IRCC representative agency to write a letter of support helps?

Thanks in advance

1. Are they working? Can they show employer letter and Salary deposits?
2. Yes you can sponsor them no issues. You will need to show your husbands bank account with salary deposits and work letter.
3. It depends upon where you are staying and for how long but atleast 500$ a week.
4. Paying any consultant wont help. You need to show ties in the home country like property, fixed deposits etch

Note US Visa denial is not helping. I suggest you order Case notes and meet with a lawyer who can help you understand what went wrong and how to fix it

The past refusals will work against her. So you'll want to put together a strong application. Make sure she declares all past refusals in this new application.

1) Where is she working? Is she self employed or working for a large company? What did the work letter say?
2) She should show her own funds. It weakens her application significantly for you to plan to sponsor her whole trip. It's fine if you show your own funds. But she should show that she has more than enough funds to pay for the full trip.
3) How long is she planning on staying? How long a trip is she requesting?
4) Doesn't help at all / adds zero value. An IRCC representative can't in any way speak to her intentions or support the application.

If her husband is remaining at home, she can add him as a tie since he isn't going to be traveling with her.

1) she does all the administrative/finance work for a private doctor clinic (for over 10 years); the company is privately owned and operated bu its owner which happens to be the doctor himself; her husband works for a hospital as a nurse; and their previous work letter stated where she worked, vacation time, etc so I'm not sure what went wrong there. Since last refusal, her husband changed jobs (currently working for a hospital).
2) ok thanks for clarifying this.
3) she plans on visiting for 2- 3 weeks maximum.

Just to clarify, her husband would be travelling with her.
Also, I have seen a lot of ppl say that having family members living in Canada weaken the application, is this true? Is the fact that I live here and my parents are also residents here (I sponsored them) viewed as a "bad" thing?

1) Yes, they both have stable jobs and will be able to provide employment letters.
3) they would be staying with me, I own a house. Do I need to prove that ?

Thanks for helping.

Stronger ties to Canada weaken her application and can make IRCC concerned she has plans to remain long term. So yes, the fact you and your parents live here may weaken her application.

She can try adding pay slips to the new application. I would also include property ownership.

Make sure she and her husband declare ALL of their previous refusals regardless of the country.

No, you don't need to prove you own a house.

IRCC cares about their profile, not yours.

Ok thank you for all the information, very appreciate it.
One more question, can I apply on her behalf (fill out the application with an authorization form) given that her English is limited?

Hi, I'm in the same situation, my GF's english is not great. I created a portal account in my GF's name, but with my email address. I did everything in the application including writing a cover letter and had my GF sign it. So it appears that my GF did everything and there was no authorization necessary. Did this once before (successfully) a few years ago, absolutely improper wrong with this approach.

Country of origin will also have an impact. If it is only you and your one sibling and your parents have status in Canada there will concerns that they will try to remain in Canada. Have they ever applied to immigrate, study or work in another country? Do they have previous international travel history and where? How much savings do they have? Their level of savings will be important. If you want your sister to visit she should apply on her own. If approved her husband can try and apply. If he gets denied she can travel and when she returns home after 2-3 weeks they will have a history of following Canadian immigration rules for any future travels.

No she has never tried to immigrate, study or work anywhere. She has previously traveled as a visitor to Mexico and Italy, and left within the given time period. Combined they probably have around 10K CAD in savings.
