Hello!
My girlfriend is from Iran and I am trying to help her get a visitor visa to Canada to visit her sister. However, we are rather new to all of this. She just had a second refusal (first being ties) and being newbies we made the mistake of putting the reason for the visit as "I want to visit my sister in Canada and then be able to apply for a work permit to become an eventual Permanent Resident."
Obviously we feel rather stupid having not thought about the second part of the statement. Her goal is to become a permanent resident but we know you have to take certain steps without stating the obvious to the visa officer.
We received this on the application:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
We are going to reapply. For the Reason to Visit part, would it just be as simple as leaving out the work permit part and saying something like "I want to visit my sister in Canada for 2 weeks and then leave to go back to Iran." ?
Also. will our previous reason hurt our next application process?
It's been rather frustrating for us, and we're extremely bummed. Do you guys have any ideas on how to proceed?
Thanks for your time,
-Michael P
