My wife applied for her brother, his wife and his son (7 years). In 3 weeks we were told about visa refusal:
I am refusing your application.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by
paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/
section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will
leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• You do not have significant family ties outside Canada.
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable)
We provided invitation letter, identify docs, forms & 1 year bank statements. They own their own business and run it together. Financial docs were bank statements & fixed deposits (approx 30k) with 1 year of debit&credit history.
We asked for 30-45 days. Reason, my kids birthday & travel to Montreal Quebec, Niagara etc (7 days).
Clearly it was not enough but what more can be done? Should I reply with more docs (house ownership, land, tax returns etc?) I would like to think they would have asked for more documents if they had doubts on business. Also we did say we'll support their stay, while they are here (both of us work professional jobs).
Very confused by all this (I really thought this was going to work).
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
