Visitor visa processing since 3 months

Hi folks, I am currently in US on H1B, I applied for a Canadian tourist visa and my application is in the processing stage since the last 3 months. The only notification I see is "We are processing your application, we will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you". I helped a couple of friends with their application and they received the visa in 10-15 days. What could be the reason my processing is taking so long. Can I write to some email regarding this. I have filled the IRCC web form multiple times and only receive automated responses.

In my previous post a member asked me to track it online but when I try to create an account I see the message "
Correct these errors:
  • Incorrect or invalid information. Review and make sure it matches the information submitted on the Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] form or the Authority to Release Personal Information to a Designated Individual [IMM 5475] form. If you can’t create an account, it may be because your client’s application is not in our system yet.

There can be any number of reasons why the processing of your application is taking longer. This can include your country of origin, any Canadian travel history, or something else related to your profile. Unfortunately it's really impossible to guess and there's really nothing you can do but wait. Good luck and hope you hear something back soon.

Same problem here. I applied for my parents (they live in Greece) and it has been 2 months, no update at all.
Last year same period my partner got his visa in 3 weeks.
And of course I can't register for the new application status tracker either.

I sent a webform 2 weeks ago, but with the ongoing strike I am afraid I won't get any reply at all.

My only concern is, what if my parent's application has been assigned to an officer who no longer works for ircc or I dont know. I have been watchin different tik toks lately about application who get assigned to employees who no longer work.

I am only praying for the best. Hopefully someone with much more experience can explain things better.

Well that's the thing. They are not processing our application at all. I feel like its still in the queue until an employ starts reviewing the application.

It's not that there is a problem, or you know different reasons that vary from case to case.

Its the fact that it has been 2 full months with no update that someone is processing it.

Thank you for your input though.

It's extremely annoying, I helped a couple of friends and they got the visa in 10 days
Their application qualified for AI processing while yours seems to need manual processing which is why there is such a large difference in processing times. 3 months isn’t unusual and the strike will likely impact processing time.

6 weeks processing (when you sent in the webform) is not long if they have been selected for manual processing. Typical manual processing is 3-4 months if not longer for some counties. Those with quick approval or refusals are usually decided by a computer system. The fact that they applied after it was discovered that there were cases assigned to agents who were not actively working should mean that they were assigned to an agent who is working but may be on strike.

That is very normal. What is their citizenship? You will see that many are waiting 3-4 months if not longer for some countries. You usually don’t get any notifications from except for biometrics, medical (if required), approval/refusal and passport request (if necessary). The strike also is impacting processing.

Their citizenship is Albanian ! That’s why we had to go through the visa process otherwise they would just use the ETA. I had no idea there is manual processing and AI processing.
If it is normal, then I am fine. I just got upset and stressed because I thought it’s not normal. Hopefully we will have some news in 2 months.
thank you so much for your answer !!
