Folks,
I am a Canada PR holder and moved to USA in June 2019. Currently I am in USA and willing to move back to Canada in next few months.
My father is in India and I need to apply Canada visa for him so that he can also move with us to Canada.

1. Can I apply supervisa while I am outside Canada? I meeting 2019 income condition.
2. If I can apply supervisa, can I bring my father in USA and then apply his supervisa or he has to be in India during this application.

Please suggest.
Thanks in advance!

Do you have a NOA / T4 for 2019 that shows you meet income requirements?

yes, I have NOA and T4 stating that I meet income requirement. However on these the address is written as USA address as I was in USA when I filed the taxes this year.

Would also stress that with both the TRV or supervisa he is just visiting you.
As TRV can also be extended upto two years, so what is the benefit of having Supervisa? Does supervisa provides extended stay after 2 years by appliying extension or two years is max time one can stay?

Do you have current employment in Canada for which you can provide an employment letter or are you just moving to Canada now to find a job? If the latter, I would recommend a TRV. I think a super visa is going to be problematic.

Visitors are generally allowed into Canada on TRVs for six months (although a shorter allowed visit is always possible). Extensions are never guaranteed. FYI - there is no two year rule with TRV extensions.

Super Visas allow a visitor to enter Canada for 2 years.

A TRV is usually up to 6 months. Yes you can apply for an extension but an extension is never guaranteed. A supervisa allows parents to enter for 2 years. Coming to Canada at the same time as a child is a red flag for CIC because it shows that the parent is attempting to move with the child to Canada. Applying once the child is established around 6+ months would be best. A TRV is depend on the parent’s finances and supervisa depends primarily on the child’s finances. With a supervisa you are required to get medical insurance with a TRV you are not required to buy medical insurance although it is advised. Given that you have been out of Canada for the past 1.5 years it may be impossible to qualify for a supervisa.

One immigration lawyer told me that as long as I have income and bank statements stating funds in Canada, I should apply parent visa. He told that canada is stamp free country and as long as I am PR holder it does not matter where I live. I am confused if that will risk the chances.

Otherwise, even if I am in Canada, is this possible for my father to apply Supervisa while he is in USA or he has to be in home country i.e. India?

I dont have employment in Canada but I work for US company who has offices in Canada as well. I will be moving to Canada branch for the same company. You see issue in that?

Also, someone told me that a visitor visa can be extended for upto two years and after that also can be extended further two years. Is that even possible?

A TRV is generally extended six months at a time. It's really up to IRCC how many extensions you are given (if any).

Thanks. For Super visa, are the extensions allowed after two years of say? Or do they allow flagpolling i.e. going out for some time and come back?

Is 6+ months of say enough or we need multi year stay to show tax returns etc?
I am wondering if I move there next year and establish myself for 5-6 months, would that be enough to show the income as paystubs/employment letter etc or would they look for 2020 tax return as well as I may not have that.
