Visitor Visa Online from US - Eligibility Verification Request in MYCIC

Hi,

I applied for Visitor Visa (TRV) online from US by uploading IMM5257E, IMM5645E for self and dependents along with all supporting documents requested. 10 days back i got "Eligibility Verification" request in my CIC account indicating that i have 14 days to respond, else i need to initiate a new request for EVN. I tried launching the request in my CIC account and it is prompting to select a college/institution province in canada. It sounds completely wierd to me as i haven't applied for study or off campus work permit and i applied only for tourist visa. I can't respond to the Eligibility Verification request as it is not applicable to me.

I have a US visa stamping appointment in Canada in 4 weeks before which i need to get canada visitor visa issued.
I am worried as i am not sure what to do now, couldn't reach canadian consulate in Canada/US. Sent emails to LA office, but no response.

Please help.

I applied for my fathers trv . I am a PR in Canada but got the same EVN notification. Interesting thing is that we are all nov applicants. very confusing. pls share if you guys get any info.
