I am filling online application for TRV, it says that "You do not need to sign your application form by hand if you submit your application form online. You will be asked to provide a digital signature once you are ready to transmit your documents to CIC."

Does that mean all required forms do not need signature by hand i.e. IMM5257, IMM5645, IMM5713, etc,. or just the application form IMM5257 does not need signature by hand?

Appreciate any advise.

I did sign IMM5645 and IMM5713 forms but not IMM5257.

BTW, I am still waiting to hear from CIC.

I need to sign my temp. Visa application digitally as i'm applying online. But the SIGN section is not active. I called to cic but they say that is my problem and i need to ask another department and sent me an email with address. Also she said that they receive online applications. So i sent email to tech department and it takes up to 20 days to reply. Does anybody know how to find the exit out of this situation ? I need to apply online as it takes much less time for processing.

Online applications don't need to be signed except for the last bit when you're about to "Transmit and Pay."

hello all,

I am applying for visitor visa for my parents who are in usa at present. All they want to do is visit canada for 3 wks single entry and return back. I am confused because the temporary visa checklist has list of documents required for SUPER VISA. its asking documents like copy of my t4 so that your child meets the low income cut off.

Do they have to go through these documents checklist cause we r not applying supervise. I wonder what would someone do if they want to visit canada but dont have any relatives here? as per the document checklist there has to be a sponsor and income requirement need to be met. Any idea

I received the reply from CIC to send the passport. I applied on 15-Feb-2013. Reply came on: 15-Mar-2013. No mails received. This is how the second letter looks like:

Dear XXX,
This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application.
Passport requirements
• Please provide your passport or travel document, with a copy of this letter.
• There must be at least one blank page in your passport.
• Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.
Your passport must be received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada within 30 days from the date of this letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application. Please ensure that a copy of this letter is included with your passport.
To find out where to send your passport, visit our website: .
Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.
Attention: The unique client identification (UCI) number in the upper left corner of this letter is your personal identification number. For your own protection, do not allow any person, other than an authorized representative, to use this number asit provides access to personal information on your file.

My friend please help me if i need to type my name on the signature panel of imm5257 form. I am submitting my application online and please help me if i need to sign family information form.

Hi !

What about family information form. it does not have editable text field where u can write your name as sign. Should i suppose to print it out, but its an online application. please advise.

1. For the main applicant forms, my understanding is - no need to fill anything for signature (even if validate there or not) keep it blank ?

2. There are forms like IMM571E, use a family member representative for online application(which is for family members to apply together), this form doesnt come with Validate option and it looks like the digital signature in the end is for main applicant only.

In this case how to give authorization signature? Keeping it blank is ok or print/scan required for additional family members signatures in this form?

Appreciate your response on this, thank you.

* Never leave sections blankets. Do your best to respond and/or write "N/A".

2. There are forms like IMM571E, use a family member representative for online application(which is for family members to apply together), this form doesnt come with Validate option and it looks like the digital signature in the end is for main applicant only.

For application #IMM571E / Change conditions, extend stay or remain in Canada as a worker -- this form is used in FOUR conditions and is signed by the main * Applicant *

Four situations the form / application is used:
1) applying for work permit with the SAME employer;
2) Restoring status as a worker
3) Applying for a work permit for the FIRST time and/or with a NEW employer;
4) Get a NEW TRV (for inadmissible residents only)
