Visitor visa - no arrival stamp on passport on arrival

My parents and brother in law entered Canada via YYZ airport. We noticed that immigration did not stamp any arrival date on the passport.

Is this okay ? what would be the default duration they are allowed to stay here ? 6 months ?

i think at the airport immigration, they asked purpose of visit and thats it. It was smooth and straightforward
