Hi,
My in-law overstayed in USA and returned to home country 5 years ago.. we want to apply for TRV in Canada for him to visit us in Canada.. Will his past over-stay in USA affect his TRV application in Canada? As full cost of his travel & stay will be fully sponsored by us and as he is above 60 years old now, is there any chance of refusal?
Suggestions from applicants with similar situations will be much appreciated!!
Thanks..

Your parents have to be honest and not lie about the overstay in the application. If you are PRs, look at a supervisa because if your parents can’t fund their own travel and stay then they have chance of refusal.

Thanks for the input.. for supervisa does they get multiple entry? or is it 2 years visa and have to apply again next time?
and if we openly state about the overstay in USA, do we can hope for a approval?

Also depends on how long the overstay and what proof they can show that they will return home.

My parents are financially supported by me.. but they have a property in their name .. how to provide financial support details?

Also I am landed recently.. is it advisable to apply for parents TRV within 1 year of landing in PR?
