Congratulations to you and your wife for successful TRV application.

I also applied last month but my TRV got rejected. Reasons were:

Travel history (although I have traveled abroad before for my studies)
Insufficient funds (we showed around $20,000 from my husband's side and 5,00,000 INR from my side)
Family ties in Canada and home country

I am not sure whether we should re-apply or not? If we should go ahead, what documents have to be reconsidered for filing TRV again?

Looking forward to suggestions as it is very stressful after getting the TRV refused :(
Sorry to hear that! go ahead and try once! for how many weeks or months did u ask for a visit visa? it is always better not to exceed more than a month. please make sure your invitation letter is strong enough and it includes the purpose of visit, stay period and your travel itinerary. And you need to provide strong supporting documents that you would not over stay.

lies to home country could involve work, education, people, asset, property, etc. Regarding funds, i think it sounds pretty OK. They might be expecting more funds from your husband's side I believe.. Not sure though. Send me your mail id so that i can send u the invitation letter sample! :) all the best! go for it :) :)

Really sorry to hear about your rejection. :( How did you proved your ties to your home country? Did you provided them a solid reason for return? On the funds, I can tell you I showed a little bit more than your husband and nothing from my Wife's side. And my wife has no travel history in the past (except 1 visit to Thailand for our honeymoon)

I think you should work on the below two things and apply again.

- Family Ties in Home Country
- Reason for Return

Funds wise, I think you are okay (but I'm still surprised why they thought you are lacking on Funds.) I wish you good luck!

I would like it if someone could shed some light when they select "travel history". Our first rejected TRV indicated this and I have no clue what it meant. My husband is Syrian and in his passport it had shown that he had travelled to Oman (extensively for weekend hiking trips), Sri Lanka, Nepal, Turkey. Denmark, Spain...all for holidays...plus he had a residence visa for the UAE. To me it was obvious he was able to get visit visas for those countries and he left each one before their expiry dates.

2) Family ties was also listed - and I understand that one (they basically assume dual intent - that he will stay once he arrives...

3) and being Syrian he wouldn't have been able to return easily to UAE if his residency expired)

He had applied for that TRV after we were married but before we had applied for PRV.

In the second rejected TRV they didn't list travel history...I guess they didn't need to...cause they were more specific...1) immigration status in country of residence 2) family ties in Canada and in country of residence and 3) other reasons which had an accompanying statement: No recourse for permanent residence or citizenship in the UAE and with strong family ties to Canada and in light of the current unstable situation in Syria, I am not satisfied you would leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.

So other than wanting some idea on their travel history concerns...I pretty much understand the rest..but a little frustrated that they would not believe we would leave Canada though...

@007JB and @jsingh89

Thanks for your suggestions. Can you please check your inbox (I have sent you my email ID) and revert to me. I would highly appreciate your help.

I applied for 1 month's TRV and showed my full time job as a reason to return to India.

Thank you

Hey PGU,

As far as i know visitor record is something that you must get the copies of your entry exit stamps for Canada and any other countries you visited. i might be wrong too please check online for confirmation!

All the best!

Yes I applied online. I used the list from Tannygirl + added a few more to it and then submitted online. I am soooo grateful to this thread.

I will post my list of documents and my invitation letter soon.

I applied ONLINE on Sept 25 and just received confirmation today (Oct 7). A total of 7 business days. I lost one day because of Gandhi Jayanti holiday. I have no idea which VO since I applied online. The letter doesn't say which VO.

No my friend Vinod. I applied for TRV. It feels like PPR though. I am just happy that after almost 8 months of being married, my wife will be arriving soon.

I am May applicant for PR. So a long way to go for me.
