my mom grant just single entry from March20, 2016 to september 20, 2016,
She will come here in canada next month April 20,2016. Do you think she can stay until October 20, 2016? Because her visa expires sept 20 2016, she will just want to come next month.

I think she can request online for extension of stay once she arrives in april. Not sure if she can do it as early as the week that she arrives.

Apply online for extension of visitor visa 30 days prior to expiry of visa. The processing time currently for extensions is 4 months. While the processing time is on, she will be in implied status.She can continue her stay in Canada without loss of status.

I did online twice but it was rejected.. But the third time thru paper work my mom applied in our home country and she was grant 6 moths..

Thank you for the responce, my mom will celebrate her birthday on oct 20, 2016 and i want her to celebrate her birthday with us. For sure i will apply for extension one month before the visa expire. Meaning when the application is implied status she can still stay with us then? You said for months for the waiting time? Thank you for enlighting me.

The visa expiry date is irrelevant to how long she can stay in Canada. That will be determined by a Border Services officer when she enters Canada.

The visa validity dates means she can enter Canada once with her single-entry TRV any time from March 20 to September 20.

So, if the Border Services officer grants her the maximum 6 month stay on April 20 for up to October 20, you don't have to apply for an extension at all.

No. The date on the temporary resident visa is the date by which you must arrive in Canada. The border services officer at the port of entry will decide how long you can stay in Canada.

Hi, If you applied for 6 months extension, after the 4 months wait, does that mean the person will have 2 months left to leave? I am wondering how long will cic grant the extension for if they are replying you after 4 months.

A friend of mine is a cab driver ( self employed)in Manitoba, who wants to call his parents on visitor visa.

He does not have any pay slips to show.

what financial documents can he attach to show that he self employed and has income?
