My parents need to apply for visitor visa for here any idea how many funds should be sufficient to show ? both are govt employees

There's no hard rule.

Rule of thumb is CA$1000 per person per week of stay plus roundtrip air fare...but other factors of the applicant's profile are also heavily considered.
