Hello guys, my boyfriend wants to apply for visitor visa from USA and is it mandatory to provide the flight itinerary and hotel accomodations for the said duration while submitting the application? Since there is no guarantee for the visa approval, is it wise to purchase the ticket while applying ? kindly share your experience. Thank you.

Do not book anything. It actually specifies not to book anything. Print out a proposed itinerary from a travel or airline site.
