Has anyone requested a refund for biometrics fee? This question is only for people who followed the PHAC route and directly travelled on Electronic travel authorization and couldn't appear for biometrics in India due to VFS closed. I'm in middle of visa extension application for my mother and since I answered NO to "have you previously provided biometrics for Canada" .i think they are going to ask us to give biometrics here in Canada .that being said, IRCC is going to charge biometric fee again.
Total fee for original TRV application: $185( $85 should be refunded here. Right ?)
Total fee for visa extension: $185
I was wondering if previous biometric fee can be refunded ?Can anyone shed light on this.

yes the 85$ should be refunded if biometrics never happened. Raise a webform for the same

Anybody on the forum who got visitor visa approved... do we need to book return tickets and upload in our visa application to make our case stronger? Any suggestions/experiences ?

Hello ...

Replying based on my understanding..

1) you have to apply normal visitor VISA application with covid mentioned in one of the forms
2) Mention the reason in invitation letters/supporting documents, upload supporting docs for support
3) Mention the UCI number of submitted visitor visa application in mail to IRCC to grant single entry TRV.
Hello,

Where do we have to mention COVID , in which form?
can we apply for PHAC approval along with the visitor visa application?

The below needs to be entered in IMM 5257
.
When answering the question on the application form about the purpose of travel, enter the following information exactly as written to make sure your application is prioritized:

  • For question 1 a) purpose of travel, choose “other” from the drop-down menu.
  • For question 1 b) description field, write “COVID-19” exactly like this (you must use capital letters).

PHAC application is a seperate step to expedite our visitor visa application.

Hi Brother,

Since Biometric was never required at first time, there is always a case to get refund for biometric fees previously paid, I also read this discussion on other forum, however I don't know the process to claim it.

Regards

Hi @dsinghd Can you please explain what application method you’re using to extend your mother’s travel authorization? My mother is currently here in Canada with me, after she received the temporary (70-day) visa document via PHAC route. I‘m looking to extend her stay past the deadline of current travel authorization, as I’ll really need her help for some more weeks. I looked into the ‘visitor record’ method of visa extension, but it says current approximate processing time for that is 200+ days. What method are you using? Is it better to just create a new visa visitor application from scratch? Would it be the same procedure as the original visitor visa application?

Has anyone been able to extend their parent/relative’s PHAC-route stay after the arrived in Canada? Would appreciate any help you fine folks can provide!

P.S. I’ve been lurking this forum topic for the last couple of months, and just want to say thanks to everyone who has been sharing info about their processes. It’s been immensely helpful in bringing my mother to Canada at a critical time.

I got only passport request. Mostly it will be a single entry visa i guess
Hi,
Did you get the passport back ? Did they give single entry ? and how long is the visa for ? 6 months or shorter period of time ?

I applied for my parents visa in Nov 2020, and haven't heard back. Only thing we received is application number.
I see lot of people are applying for PHAC approval and getting visa that way. My wife is pregnant and i really need my parents to be here with her, but if the visa is only for short time ( 1-2 months ) it will not be that much help.

Appreciate if anyone can guide me.

We applied online for super visa, received biometric letter next day. In January 2021 I tried to book appointment in Mumbai for biometric, however it kept saying, we only allowed PR, Students and immediately family member for biometric.

But now, when I try to book appointment online on VFS site in March 2021, application number shows "invalid", anyone having same issue?

Applied for Supervises online - Dec 2020

Appreciate the response.

One more question. how about the time they are allowed to stay here in Canada per entry ? I know normally they are allowed to stay up to 6 months, did they get the same with PHAC route ?

And from what i have read on this thread since i have already applied for TRV the steps i need to take should be as follow
1) apply for PHAC (get my family doctor to fill out and sign the form and submit that)
2) Once i get PHAC approval send an email to IRCC to request to expedite the TRV application

Correct ?

My parents are flying in this Thursday so I won't know for sure how long they are authorized to stay until they land, but I'm hoping it would be the standard six months. And yes, the steps you listed are correct.

Thanks again for quick response.
I hope your parents get 6 month visa when they land.
Please let me know once you find out how much time they authorise once they land.
