It will depend how convincingly you can write a cover letter to prove your ties to your home country. Being on a work visa in another country will make them pull the Immigration Status card. You will need to have previous travel history, a good job with letter from your boss authorizing your leave and date of return, finances, ownership of property, family like wife or children (whatever ties you can think of), and a compelling reason to visit Canada.
