I can understand how you feel. Since I did not yet apply for my wife again, can't help you a lot. But as far I have researched, your husband should try for a short visit (single-entry visitor visa) with very specific time preferably showing an air-ticket confirmation/ itinerary. And above all, there should be enough proof of STRONG TIES. This is the hardest part. Ties can be anything like on-going paid work status, student status, other family members that need to be taken care of, properties and so on. If you have your anniversary coming on, that may give him a solid purpose to visit (just giving you a hint). Make sure you write a notarized invitation letter for your husband.

I am not sure whether he is eligible for an OWP based on the fact that you are a grad student. If he tries for an OWP outside Canada, it proves that he is going to stay for long. Once he comes here, he can try for an OWP here which is much easier. Again they know about it; hence that makes it difficult.

what did you do to get the TRV. I have been trying to get my girlfriend a TRV for months now. we have failed twice, and there is not much more we can do really. we have given the office ALL the informations we can possibly give. and they still aren't satisfied. Did putting more money in the bank help the situation. the hardest part for us is that She does NOT have any STRONG TIES, she has no property, no car, all she has is a job with her father. We are at a loss with where to turn next.
what did you all send in?
how much time is too long for a visit. we said the visit would be for 1 months and had bought flight tickets to and returning already, in hopes that they would see that she would come back. They didn't care about it and we lost the flight naturally. it is a frustrating process and one i fear that we will not conquer without some serious help somewhere.

well you first need to get married to reach the success ladder. i have shown the same docs mentioned in the cic website. extras i showed that i have leased property here in canada. NO NEED TO SHOW EXCESS FUNDS. show wat u have recieved in ur account. dont arrange huge sums from ur folks. n my marriage certificate.. dats it to get the visa. i nvr showed ny ticket bookings, its no help.

Canada Service doesn't issue work/visit/study permits. The OP's spouse applies to Vegreville.

So did she come here in Canada? How long stay has she been permitted? Did they ask for proof of funds again at the port of entry?

I have to also apply for my wife's visitor visa....she has a job in India...she got job letter but leave letter is difficult to get. Is it necessary ?

Also, did u apply for single entry or multiple entry? Did you show property in her name ? Did they take any interview ?

Did you also notarize your invitation letter? I am tensed up because from what I have heard, its pretty difficult to get visitor visa for spouse...

my wife has come to canada. she has been permitted 6mnths stay but she can extend it if she wishes to. no need to show if she is workin...i applied for multiple. no porperty n all..no interview. only invitation. no not notarized. its not difficult.. go according to the list on immigration website for visitors visa.

I am really confused, yesterday I have talked a man whos wife rejected for visitor visa twice, he said after 2 times reject she applied for open work under their loyers suggestion and got it, and she is here now, they says loyer said that canada has a rule that students spouse ca work but they dont have the rule that students spouses can visit them whenever they want, so now you saying dont apply for a open work , I am relly confused, and every day it is getting more confusing..why do you think he will be rejected for open work, and did you have a loyer, plz advise me, thanks

c as far as my case goes..i didnt have ny problems at all.. my wife was granted the visa.i didnt go through any lawyers. simply i dont trust them. they all follow the webiste www.cic.gc.ca.... for everyone the rule is the same and i went through the website and i was successful. my wife has a 3 years visa with an open work permit. lawyers take you for a ride... your spouse has to apply from his place. you cant apply. so be careful
