Hello,

I have received my COPR and plan to move in November. My spouse is unaccompanying due to other commitments. This was mentioned in the application.

I would like to know what are the prospects of getting a vistor visa for max 10 days if my spouse has to accompany me only for assisting me during the landing week.

What are the red flags that we need to consider before we apply?

Your inputs would be appreciated.

Generally speaking, it's more difficult for spouses to get approved visitor visas in these situations since CIC often has concerns the spouse has plans to remain in Canada long term. In your cases CIC may be concerned you listed your spouse as unaccompanying to get more points and are now trying to bring her to Canada as a visitor so that you can sponsor her inland. Having said that, I would certainly apply all of the same (again, providing very strong proof of ties to her home country). You may get lucky...

Thanks @scylla for your inputs. If we do intend to apply for the vistor visa and it gets rejected does this have a negative impact at a later stage when i have to apply for my spouse's sponsorship visa?

No - there will be no negative impact. So you might as well apply.
