I want to apply for visitor visa for my mother. My father works in law enforcement and does not want to apply for the visa. So if I want to apply only for my mother, what are the documents that i will need to submit. She does not have any funds or property in her name. Can i show the funds and properties in that are under my fathers name. Any suggestions or recommendations please. Thank you.

I am an open work permit holder employed in Canada.

Hi, I am not the most educated on this subject however here is some information to get you started.

You must provide your mother with a letter of invitation.

She must show that she has sufficient funds for the duration of her stay and travel tickets.

If she has a job, an employment letter would be very helpful in making her case strong. And maybe proof that the employer is giving her leave to visit you.

You also need a family information form (IMM 5645).

This is as far as I know. She needs to be able to convince the officer that she will leave canada and return to your home country after her visit. It would be wise to use the presence of your father in the home country and property and jobs and etc to strengthen her ties.

However, this is based on your situation. If she has no job or any strong ties to your home country, you may have to find other ways to convince the officer that she will leave. I firmly suggest talking to a consultant as many on forums may not have a lot of information about this matter.
