Visitor Visa for Parents and Brother of a Permanent Resident(PR)

Hello Experts,

I want to invite my parents and my brother to stay with me for some time. I am a permanent resident of Canada and having my own house and permanent job in Canada.

My parents are Senior citizen and they never travelled outside of India so far. My brother is working professional and will be coming on vacation for some time.

Now, I do not have any specific reason to invite them other than seeing me. I saw some thread and people were having reasons such as Pregnancy , Convocation, marriage etc.
But I don't.

So , do I need to have any specific occasion to invite them? What should be my Duration of Visit ?Also, Can I show my funds and mention same in invitation letter?

I don't want to have rejection .

Do they have visitor visas? If not that is the first step and will take months to process. They can apply. Your parents don’t need authorization to travel but your brother does. He needs to apply on his own as he is independant from your parents.

They don't have a Visa, I am applying for them. So I need to apply for my mother and father separately ? Or I can combine them into one application?

Also, Can I show my funds in Supporting documents?


And for my brother, what do you mean by Authorization?

Your parents apply together and your brother applies on his own. Don’t know where you are from but processing can be over a year. They all need to show their own funds and document that they can afford to visit. Right now because of Covid only immediate family members can travel. Your brother is not immediate family so would also need written authorization to travel and show his visit is essential.

So my parents have to show their own funds, okay do you know how much it is?

Processing times are around 250 days right now due to COVID.

hi everyone,
I am on PR for last 4 years. Married with no kids.

I am planning to apply for a visit visa for my parents through an online application.
My father is a businessman and mother is a housewife.
My father will be the principal applicant and mother will be dependant. what are the forms do i have to fill up for my mother?
Since she is a housewife, what are the documents i can show for her ?

Any suggestions is appreciated. especially from @scylla @Naturgrl

I am applying so that their option of travelling become open . So I am okay to wait for the processing.So I was curious how much funds they need to show in their accounts?

I live in 2 BDR apartment. Do I have to provide my apartment lease papers with my other documents below:
1. Passport Photocopy
2. Birth Certificate
3. Copy of my PR Card
4. Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)
5. Bank statements for 4 months
6. Invitation Letter
7. Quarantine Plan (Place to stay for 14 days)

For the Mandatory 14-day quarantine or isolation, should I mention Airbnb in my invitation letter? if so, do I need to add the screenshot of the Airbnb reservation with the list mentioned above or since I have 2 bedrooms, it will be ok?

I guess on the CIC site , it would require a marriage certificate also for your parents. That's what I saw in my list. And separate IMM 5257 for both of your parents.

If I apply for TRV online, do I have to upload the documents checklist, or it's not needed?
and also on the documents checklist, it says family information form imm5707e, but when I tried to apply online it says imm5645.
which one should I fill up and upload on the online form?
