Hi guys,
My name is Sreeram. I have a PR and its been close to 10 months in Canada. I have been trying to get my wife here on spousal sponsorship. So with this respect I had applied her forms with relevant documents, in Jan. Unfortunately they returned the application, saying its incomplete as it does not have any "option C print out". At the time of my application I did not have my T4 so I attached other financial documents like statement and payslips to support.

Now i have submitted my application for tax returns, but since its a first time application the agency says it would take anywhere between 3 to 6 months for my tax returns to come in. So i was thinking if I can bring in my wife on a Tourist Visa. I would like to know if, me bringing her on Tourist Visa would affect the Spousal Sponsorship? What steps should I take so that the next time, there is no delay or return of application.

Regards,

Sreeram
If you don't have the Option C printout, you got to explain it. You can't just substitute with other materials!

Hi All,

Is the following a better way considering my situation:

1) my fiance applies for a visitor visa to Canada, now itself, on her own, just as a regular tourist and she gets the visa?

2) In november, we get married and then she travels to Canada as a tourist

3) later on, we apply for her spousal PR?

Is this a better way? The only advantage here I see is that she applies for visitor visa a regular tourist and thus we avoid this whole fiance or spouse thing which can sometimes makes CIC nervous that she may overstay her visitor visa. Pls advise.

Hi rogerset,

I am in the same situation as you were sometime back. Could you please tell me what happened with your fiancee/spouse's TRV application.
If anyone else can shed some light, that would be great.

Thanks!

Hi guys,
Please kindly advise me for my below situation:

My bf is Canadian, I am Vietnamese. We planned to get married in Sep, but because of my bf's job, we can not celebrate our wedding and we decided to replace by an engagement. However, we are going to ask for visitor visa for me to visit my fiancé from now on so that I can go to Canada to visit him and his family after we engage. Is it possible for me to get visitor visa? In case we want to register marriage certificate in Canada first during my trip, then back to Vietnam and waiting until our wedding next year. After that, we will apply PR for me.

Is it a positive way for us?

I am really grateful for your feedbacks soon

Many thanks

Visitor Visa after marrying a Canadian

Hello All,

I need some advice relating to the similar discussions I've been reading.

My girlfriend and I have been in a relationship since 2010 and we would like to get married. She has moved back to Canada from Dubai but I continue living here. We have been wanting to get married to be together but she would like to continue her life in Canada where she is most comfortable and would want me to move there as well. In the hopes that after I arrive in Canada we could get married, since early 2014, we have tried to get me there on a student visa which fell through and a job which fell through. So frustrating!!! Each visa applied for had a lot of time, effort and money put in.

Now I understand that the CIC does not recognize a fiance visa so after a year, I applied for a visitors visa. I applied with supporting documents from my girlfriend inviting me as a friend to come over for a holiday. I applied twice in a month and it got rejected both times. The situation is getting very frustrating. So my fiance has decided to come down to Dubai where we get married and that's where I need some advice.

Lets assume we are married in Dubai and she travels back immediately to resume her job with the Government, would it then make it any easier for me to travel to Canada immediately on a visit visa having documents proving she is my wife? Or is there any reason they should come back rejecting it again? What must I anticipate? Is there something I can include as documents to help better the case?

Really need to know how to approach this as this has gone way too long without any progress.

What is the purpose for requesting a TRV? How long do you plan to stay?

If something significant happens while your the is pending, you can inform CIC. That is not difficult. However, if you are looking for an advise as to whether she should apply TRV as your wife or as your fiancé, I would say it is better that she applies as your wife. Why? Because CIC denies visas to fiancé to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Citizens because CIC thinks when the fiancé comes to Canada, the couple will get married in Canada and once the fiancé becomes spouse, she will not return to home country at the end of the TRV. So typically the word "Fiancé" is a red flag to CIC.
Hi! boyfriend or girlfriend? Is this also a red flag to CIC? I'm writing an invitation letter for my boyfriend for 9 years to visit me here in Canada. However, I am kinda worried that immigration may deny his application if they found out that we are in a relationship, since I read a lot of posts here that they will surely deny the application if they found out that you are in relationship. If we will only mention that we are only very close friends, will that be a good idea? or should I disclose as boyfriend? Btw, we are in same-sex relationship.

Hello!

I'm new, and I already applied twice for a TRV both in the US and my home country. However, it's been denied both times. I only want to meet my boyfriend's family and just spend time with him. I'm planning on reapplying so I could come on Christmas. What should I do? Any suggestions?
