Hi There,

I have one question. I applied for visitor visa for my mother and visa till her passport validity which is dec 2020. I want to ask whats the process to extend the visa. Should i send the new passport after i apply to cic or i have to make a new application after dec 2020. Does amyone knows

I applied for my mother visa and she had 7 years left for expiry of passport and she got visitor visa for 7 years only (India). if this helps for you

My mom got one year visa till her passport expiry. So my question is how can i extend her visa after one year... do i just need to send the new passport to extend her visa or i need to apply again.

I heard from someone that we just need to send in the new passport and they will stamp visa for 10 years

This is incorrect.

I think this is US visa and not Canada Visa.
If you have 10 years visa from US then you can do it but if its Canada no! You have to reapply for a visa.
