Hi @Bryanna

I am thinking about going to Vancouver on New year with my nephew for one week, he is a student here in Australia from
india.

His circumstances are

Studying Diploma
Not working as looking for job
Had worked in casual jobs before can provide few payslips

Has AUD 2500 in his account
Visited New zealand once
Came to Australia twice before applying study permit.

I am his uncle Australian citizen have Valid ETA. I am going with him and will pay for his all costs and have a bank balance of $50000. My nephew lives with me in Australia, i pay for his living expenses.

Now my question is if its possible for him to get canada visa when not working?

His college is off for three weeks during the period of purposed trip.

Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

1. How many hours a week is he allowed to work as a student?

2. Do post the list of documents he intends to submit, including evidence that you must return to Australia

3. How old is your nephew? When does his student visa expire? And, his study program?

4. Do you have a Canadian host? How long do you intend to visit?

You have not included:
1. Evidence of your strong ties to Australia

2. A detailed day-by-day plan for your visit with expense estimates. You must prove you can afford this visit for 2 persons + airfare + hotel + miscellaneous expenses.

3. Guardianship letter

4. Evidence that your nephew resides with you in Australia + you have been supporting his stay

3. How old is your nephew? When does his student visa expire? And, his study program?

He is 19 year old and course finishing in 2021 , doing Cert II, III, Diploma in Automotive.
He has probably just started this study program. IMO, it would not be a good idea to apply until he has studied at least 1-1.5 year/he is mid-way in his study program.

Also, you have not included any evidence to prove he is a bona fide student + he has student ties to return to.

4. Do you have a Canadian host? How long do you intend to visit?
No canadian host only tourism purpose
One week during New year.
A 1-week visit + no Canadian host + no real strong ties to Australia + weak financial situation (completely dependent on you).... collectively makes your nephew's application quite weak. His application depends on the quality of your supporting documents.

IMO, he has a 50:50 chance. You can certainly try. Hope for the best
