I'm US citizen and we want to visit Canda from USA along with my In-laws, they are holding indian passports. In the procedure i see they need their marriage certificate and some other financial documents. They dont have any of those documents now. Is there any procedure. Our visit is mainly tourism and we dont have any friends in Canada. Any help to speed up visa procedure is greatly appreciated.
Hi,
First, it would be best if your in-laws apply when they are in India.
Instead of a marriage certificate, they can submit copies of their passports if it states each other's names as spouse and/or your spouse's birth certificate.
They must prove they can afford the visit which means they must have some amount of finances/liquid funds. If this is not possible, you must provide a 'Letter of Financial Support' along with your financial documents.
There's no way to speed up the visa process. It will take just as long as required (varies from case to case). They can, however, request for expedited processing under CAN+ as they have US B1/B2 visas.
You could refer to the Document Checklist and Visa Office Instructions for India applicants on the IRCC website
