The visa category would have been a normal TRV. There's no special category.

What are the refusal reasons you received?
He is my mentally disabled half-brother.
Here are the main reasons that keep repeating according to the GCMS notes :

- not convinced with ties to the main country given that the hosts (me and my other siblings) are in Canada. Besides my parents (who applied for the supervisa, he has no one to look up to in main country). Grandparents died, biological father as well. Aunts and uncles have their own children to look after

- "applicant suffering from severe medical condition and residing in country where medical services are less well established than Canada"

Has your half-brother been living with your parents? If so, there will certainly be concerns that if your parents remain for longer periods in Canada he will also try to remain.

You're in a difficult situation since your brother already has two refusals. So if you submit a third application, you'll want it to be much stronger than the first two. The fact that both of your parents have super visas will likely make approval more challenging. A super visa indicates that your parents likely have plans to take a longer trip to Canada and potentially remain in Canada for two years. If your brother is dependent on them entirely, this would indicate they want him to remain with them. A TRV really doesn't allow a two year visit.

What evidence did you provide in the application?
- Did you show that you had already purchased private travel insurance to cover your brother's trip to Canada?
- Did you show substantial savings (yours or your parents) to cover the costs of the trip and his stay?
- Did you show evidence of your employment?
- Did you include a letter / affidavit confirming you will cover all of your brother's costs while he is in Canada?

I would read through the original post in this thread. It contains a lot of great information about what the original poster put in their application to get an approval. Did you provide each of these?

Ultimately it may not be possible to get a TRV approved and you unfortunately may have to be satisfied with visiting your brother in his home country rather than having him come here.

Having said that, if you think you can put together a stronger application, by all means give it another shot. Good luck!

Hello Rimpy,
I know you posted this few years ago was just wondering if you can help me as I am looking to invite my brother who is a cerebrum palsy child on visitor visa. Should I apply his visa along with my mother's visitor visa or separately?

Depends on how old he is.

Hello All,

i have seen lot of post stating that mentally or physically disabled children ( include brother & sister) can not visit Canada due to Disability. Recently i applied for ,my brother who is mentally disabled or state it as handicapped . He never went to school or never had a job. he is completely financially dependent.

But he got his visa.
below are few details i included in the application
1)letter from me and my husband that we will support him financially and we will pay for his expenses and we mentioned that he is financially independent

2)buy medical insurance before hand
3) Attested letter from parents that they will support him financially
4) invitation letter (try to get it attested from MLA)
5) your financial records and parents
6) relationship proof
7) medical records proving disability
8) you will get a medical exam request.
9) marriage certificate for parents and sponsor (if you are married)
10) house ownership paper( if you own one)
Hi,

I am needing assistance for the visitor visa for my disabled brother. I am not sure if you are still active on this forum.
I read your post and you said that you mentioned you and your husband wrote to take care of expenses for your brother.
you also mentioned that your parents wrote letter about supporting him financially.
did they also mentioned that they will take care of travel expenses too or financial support in general?

Thank you!

Hi Rimpy,
I want to apply for my brother-in-law who is mentally retarded and is 31 year old. My in-laws got the visa already now I want to apply for him. How can we make the application strong. what all should be mentioned in the invitation letter? Do you have any reference of invitation letter?
