visitor visa for Canada

Hi all,
Can some one explain me the steps for the visitor visa for Canada from India. I want to have this for my mother. She wants to be here for 4-5 months so i guess just a regular visitor visa is required. Please let me know the step[s and documents required. do we have to send the application thro BLS or vfs? Also which is the best site for online air booking, reliable and good deals ?

also not a good idea to get air tickets before the visa is approved.
