Hello everyone, i am about to renew my mother’s TRV extension or visitor visa extension. Now it says on the website that I can apply it 30 days before the expiry date but when I check the processing time its 110 days by mail. My question is, is that okay for my mom not to have a status while waiting for the result? Is she gonna have implied status? If so, can I extend her again on the second time? Will I have a problem next time and this time as well? Please enlighten me!☹☹

It also says on the website that as long as you apply before any current stay has reached an expiry date as assume stated on the first extension that the applicant would be on implied status until a decision has been made on any new application.

Obviously if this is the second extension it may get extra scrutiny and the more you extend there is always the chance of refusal as immigration may think your mother is trying to live in Canada.

Any reason why you would not apply for a super visa ? Also why not apply online as processing is 70 days currently for online.

Hello Bs65, thanks for the reply. I applied my mom as a visitor visa for 6 months like other people I know since TRV and suoervisa have the same application package, but all of them got multiple visa and my mom only got 6 months single entry visa. I started to think that maybe its because of her age, for she is only 46 years old and also I am single unlike other applicants who are over 60 yrs old and children are married with the help of their spouse financially. I tried to apply online just today, Im having trouble with it, theres no option for visa extension, the only choice I had is for initial visa application which is totally wrong cuz it directed me to initial TRV application and gave me the TRV application package for intial application. Could you please help me to find the right link to do it please?

6 months is the normal maximum stay limit for visitors. Your mother may receive an extension but she remains a visitor and will be asked to return to her home country eventually. This happens no matter the age of the applicant.
