Hi, I had a few questions about the extension of visitor status...

I was in Canada on a working holiday visa from October 15 2011 to October 15 2012, and when I entered Canada after going on vacation on sept 20th 2012 I was given a visitor stamp by the border agent and told I was okay for six months. (even after my whv ran out) We then left for a weekend trip to the us and when I read-entered the border agent asked why I had the stamp. I explained and she said follow up with cic, so I submitted an extension of visitor status online (which would change my status from worker to visitor) and currently have implied status. I put on the application that I wanted to extend my stay due to living with my fiance and having my residency application in progress. I also mentioned the visitor stamp I was given and included a copy in the supporting documents.

Also I submitted my application for permanent residency under the family class/common law from inside Canada, my application was received sept 6 2012, my sponsor had an email dated 27 November that they had received the application, and it is now showing as 'in process' on the cover website.

Now that my application shows in progress would they be able to see that when they are deciding on giving me an extension?
I'm just starting to worry myself as my implied staus is up soon so any help is appreciated

So

Your visa was originally
15-10-2011 > 15-10-2012 - 1 Year Visa
You visit to the states on 20-09-2012 ( Visa Still Valid )
You re-enter before 15-10-2012 and you are given 6 months stay
after 15-10-2012, you don't have re-entry visa, only to stay inside Canada for 6 months but you left Canada and came back and immigration let you in? <<< but did they re-stamp? or said the six month is from above when you entered Canada ( ie, September )

Now, you applied for Extension - which technically is extending that 6 month stay you were given ( the original or the recent one ) which is different from you PR application
However, it might be an issue where you left Canada whereas you technically didn't have a visa to re-enter ( something you can clarify )

But you are IN now so might be no issue

Thanks for your reply,

Yes I had a 1 year working holiday visa from October 2011-October 2012,
September 26 2012 entered Canada from Mexico and the border agent at the airport gave me a visitor stamp and told me I was ok as a visitor after my visa ran out (6 months entry)
October 2 2012 we spent a few days in the states on a road trip and when we entered then the border agent asked what I was doing as my visa expired soon, I told her about the stamp from mid September and that we had applied for permenant residency and she let me in. She said the stamp I received in Calgary could have been perceived in a different way (to cover me until my visa ran out) and apply for a visitor record so it all matched up.

I didn't receive a new stamp when I entered on the 6 October, and that was the last time I entered Canada. It was at the pacific highway land crossing in bc.
I applied for the visitor extension before my work permit ran out as it said to do online and it was received October 9, I didn't want to lose legal status in Canada. I'm guessing that CIC will be able to see all of this.
