Visitor visa extension while waiting my study permit approval

Hello all,

After I got the university acceptance letter for MS, I filed a paper application for a study permit to LA consulate. Since I am waiting for a decision, my visitor visa statue will expire soon. My question: I am going to apply for visa extension. Do I need to mention that I am going to study in Canada on the IMM 5708 as each file will process in different office?
