Hi Experts,

I need your support on extending my visitor visa. below is my situation, followed by questions.
Thanks in advance :)

Situation:

  • I am in Canada on Visitor visa and my visa expires on 28 June 2017, almost 80 days from now
  • I am staying with my husband and He is a PR
  • I have applied for PR and seems like it shall be approved within maximum of 1 months, medical passed waiting for Background check and final decision (28-Aug-2016 Applicant)
  • I want to extend my visitor visa, as I have very high hopes that my PR will be approved before/a little after my visa expires, I don't want to take chances and wish to apply for visitor visa extension as PR approval may come after my visa expires

Questions

1. I entered in Canada on 28-Nov-2016, instead of normally 6 months, my visa was approved for 7 months, handwritten entry by CBSA officer on passport says 28-June-2017 - is it possible to get entry for 7 months or is it some kind of confusion and I need to leave on 28-May-2017 ?
2. Do I need my bank statements (from INDIA) to be stamped and verified by bank officer (in INDIA ) or shall online printout be enough (without stamp and signature) ?
3. What are the chances of getting visitor visa extension, give the situation above ?
4. Will rejection have any effect on my PR application ?

REGARDS.

Hi

It is too early to apply. Apply in June if you haven't received PR yet. Note that you would be extending your visitor status, not a visitor visa.

1. CBSA can both shorten and extend stays upon entry. The date written in your passport in the date you go by.

2. Printout is fine.

3. Provided you have proof of sufficient funds, pretty much no chance of refusal.

4. No.
