We're 9 months into an outland Irish residency app being processed at LVO. My husband applied for a visitor visa prior to applying, he was granted one for 6m. By the time we applied we were getting close to the end of that so we extended to be safe. We got extended for 1y, until late January 2018.
We just went ahead and booked a trip to Ireland for mid February. Depending on what happens we're going to either land and take the risk of receiving the PR Card on time (we have cancellation insurance) OR delay landing and doing that on the way back.
If we don't have DM by early January, do we need to attempt to extend the visitor visa again to be safe?
(I know all the risks of traveling with an app in progress...really hoping that by mid Feb it won't be in progress any longer)
