Hello Everyone,

My mother came on Visitor Visa to live with me in Canada amidst of Pandemic. I applied for 6 months extension which got approved with a note that my mother needs to undergo Medical Exam within 30 days and a separate form has been mailed. I did not received any Medical Exam form and even the extended date expiry fast approached because IRCC took almost 4 months to process the request.
I reapplied for second extension of less than 6 months but they refused saying we failed to take up Medical Exam that was sent during first extension. They mentioned below
1. I must not submit another application until the medical exam is done - Question: How can I get the Medical Exam form resent? Can I apply again with the explanation of not being received and for the pardon?
2. My mother should leave the country immediately if she is no longer eligible to stay - Question: My mother's extended stay date expired in Oct'21 itself and we were waiting for the approval for second extension. Now that has been refused and most of the countries are on travel ban moreover my mother is of age 60+ and there is nobody to support her back home. I am getting very nervous. Please help with suggestions on how I can have my mother stay for few more days till the Omicron spread eases. I do not want to leave my mother alone back home during this worst pandemic time as there is no care taker for her. I am not in a state to send her back home immediately risking her health and safety. KINDLY HELP!

1. Start by checking your spam box. That's almost certainly where the email ended up and why you missed it (only other explanation is that it was accidentally deleted). Spam boxes generally dump historical emails after a while. So if it's not there, send a webform requesting that IRCC resend the medical request. Your mother needs to complete the medical before you do anything else.
2. She is now out of status in Canada since her extension was refused. You will need to restore her status. You need to get the medical done first before you can try to apply to restore her status.

There are very few travel bans at the moment. At a certain point your mother will not be granted any more extensions so you need to come up with a plan for her to move back home and arrange any help she may need.

Sorry you missed the request for a medical. It looks like your best chance is for your mother to leave the country and re-enter.
It is a problem to overstay. So I think the sooner the better.

Hi, Hope your problem would has been resolved. In case it hasnt been solved yet. Try to knock on all possible doors. First send a web forum . Second you can also try to look for your areas MP on the internet. Send them an email explaining your situation. These offices also help expedite the cases sometimes. In case you are able to solve your problem. please do post an update here. I would also like some information on this topic as I had applied for my mothers visa extension about a month ago and I am waiting for their response at the moment.
