Visitor visa chances

Hello,

I want to gauge how strong of an application I have and the chances of it getting approved. Here's the story in a nutshell:

Applying for a visitor visa to visit a friend of mine (I am a girl, early 20s, he is a guy (Canadian), not sure what immigration agent might think) and also sight see for a week. I am applying from my own country (south america), have just under 10k in my bank account, have a job which I've had for 3-4 years and stamped letter from employer stating my salary (~2k/mo USD) and vacation allowance. I take care of my mom and have proof of money I've sent her since she is unemployed. I own a property but not in the city I live in (not sure if that matters). I have a detailed letter stating how I know my friend, pictures to prove our friendship, how I will finance my stay, why I am going there, budget by day, places I will visit each day, etc. I've traveled to a number of countries in the caribbean and south america in the past few years, no issues there. Let me know what you guys think.

You don't want to "prove" the friendship because the visa officers will think you'll try to qualify for a spouse sponsorship.

Emphasize the care for you mother. Explain what you do and how you must come home to care for her.

If your travel is all within MERCOSUR or other countries where you don't need a visa, your travel history doesn't help. Travel to Europe, the UK, or the US would have.

So what should I say since he is inviting me? Just say he is my fiend and leave it at that?

Just to offer another perspective, I recall someone posted their GCMS notes here in a similar situation, and the visa officer noted that they didn’t think it was a bona fide relationship. Some brief but strong proof could be considered.
