Hi all,

I applied for a visitor visa in late February 2022 in the Netherlands and gave my biometrics in March 2022.

5 months later, still no updates! My current status is "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."

Quick question - are those normal processing times? On the official website (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html), much shorter time frames are shown and I have been patiently waiting for more than 5 months.

I filled in the online complain form for slow review of the application a few months ago as well, no response there either. The London office of the Canadian migration authorities seems to be assessing my visa application.

Is there someone else experiencing such a delay? Especially curious for people who applied in the Netherlands or are having their visa applications reviewed by their London Office.

Many people on here are just waiting and didnt get a response back from raising a webform. How did you find out which office is assessing your application?

It is almost November now, so close to 9 months and no response yet!

My current status reads the below with the Estimated remaining processing time greyed out and no Estimated completion time is given:

Review of eligibility
We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Review of medical results
You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.

Review of additional documents
We do not need additional documents.

Interview
You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

Biometrics
XYZ Completed.

Background check
We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

Final decision
Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Based on other people from the site, any idea how much longer it is going to take?

That is the big issue. There seems to be a general slowdown onTRVs from Russia or denial because most applying aren’t unlikely to return to Russia. What was your reasion to visit Canada and what is your status in the Netherlands?
Long term resident in the Netherlands - applied to visit Canada as a tourist with my fiancee.

Is there an official confirmation by Canadian government authorities on their policy with respect to Russian citizens (e.g., not processing visitor visa requests)?

Doesn’t matter unless you are a permanent resident or citizen of the Netherlands. No official policy only anecdotal reports. There are certainly much higher risks of visitors with Russian citizenship remaining in Canada so there are grounds for refusal. Assume most who are only coming for a vacation will just give up and travel somewhere else.

Hmm my Dutch residence permit is for 5 years, next one will be permanent.

Do you think that the Canadians will not respond to my visa application?

I applied in march 2022 and still no response as well and it's the same situation for most people. They have so many pending applications from covid or whatever that it's taking so long to get a response. Just be patient there's nothing you can do. My friend applied from Qatar in March and finally heard back last week. So we just need to be patient. It took 1 year for some people so we really can't know when they will respond. The processing time shown on IRCC website is not accurate anymore.
