Visitor visa before sponsorship

Hello there! I am a Canadian citizen who is currently living in Russia. My fiance is Russian and we are planning to get married and apply for Sponsorship right away.
But I also would like him to meet my parents who live in Canada. What are his chances in getting a temp/tourist visa? He's never been to Canada and it would be nice to show him the country as well. We are solid on coming back to Russia and going with legal way (sponsorhsip). But how can we assure the officer in this?

1. Reference letter explaining why he is visiting, what is your relationship and what you will be doing. Attach a copy of your passport so CIC knows you are being serious about taking responsibility of him leaving the country.
2. Add bank statements showing funds available during the visit.
3. If you can add an schedule of which things you are going to do while he visits do so.

It sounds to me like a very straight forward application.
