Visitor visa applied to NewYork office through mail

Hi,
I applied for visitor visa through mail and it reached the newyork Canada consulate on feb 19th. I have a visa interview in Canada on 18th of this month. Am i too optimistic to expect the documents before mar 17? Wanted to know if anyone got back the passports in less than 30 calendar days in the recent past. Thanks for your help.

I got it after 14 days last year from Detroit center. According to website, for NY center the processing time is 20 days. So, hopefully you will receive it soon. I hope you have enclosed return express mail envelop to get it soon.

Thanks hks11. Looks like they have stopped visitor processing in all centers other than newYork and LA for the time being. So I am worried if the processing time has changed. If I did not get it by tomorrow, I will have to reschedule my US Visa interview in Canada. Not being able to track the status is creating the tension. Anyways, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Im in the same situation as you are, but i sent my papers one week after you. Please let me know about any updates on your application. I'd truly appreciate it.

I sent them an email. Have you tried sending one too?

I sent 2 emails and no response. Looks like it will take a max of 28 days for the consulate to respond to the emails.

I once received maily reply back after 10 days. Otherwise, I feel nothing to worry. You should receive it before this weekend. My friend, who applied in mail through LA consulate received it in 25 days. 2 months back My company colleagues used to receive it in 15 days. Currently Mail application timeline is increased. Neverthless, it should reach around 30 days time.

Hey no news for me either. I need to go back home in a couple weeks, and since they have my passport I think Ill go to NY next week to ask for them personally sincr the emails Ive sent have never worked out. Ill keep you posted
