Visitor Visa applied online, passport submitted to Ottawa, return time?

Hi guys,

I submitted TRV online (inside Canada) on Sep27 and got a message from cic requesting my passport on Sep30. So I sent my passport using Canada post xpress (I was told this is the fastest method) to Ottawa on Sep30 and they received my passport on Oct3. I just checked online the processing time is 8 days and they are working on applications submitted on Sep27(which is the day I submitted mine).
My question is does anyone know how long it takes to stamp the passport and send it back? I have travel plans on Oct15th(next Saturday), does anyone know if I'll get my passport back on Oct14th(next Friday)?
I'm really stressed out cause I need to leave the country to attend a conference meeting and I'm not sure I'll get my passport back on time.

Stamping takes from 2 to 5 full business days.

XpressPost takes from 2 to 7 days to deliver the package.

No one can say if you will receive the passport in time.

I just checked my account on cic and it says "case closed, application is approved".

Just wondering if ottawa visa office will send my passport back today so I can receive it by tomorrow. (I chose the xpresspost pre-paid envelope)

My flight is on Oct15th (the day after tomorrow). Hopefully I can make it!

Usually passports are sent 1 business day after been stamped. XPressPost can take from 2-4 days for delivering it.

Also trakcing numbers are not very reliable as they get activated sometimes once they are already in transit.

I'm praying cic can send my passport at the end of the day today so I can get it by tomorrow.

As far as I know passports are picked up by the courier service first thing in the morning and they start their trip on that same night.

Hopefully you will get it on time.

Just got my passport back! What a miracle!!!

Timeline:
Application submitted: Sep27
Passport requested: Sep30
Passport sent: Sep30
Ottawa visa office received my passport: Oct3
Application closed, visa approved: Oct13
Passport received: Oct14
(Flight tomorrow Oct15, can't believe I got my passport on time, I'm so blessed!)

Hi do you know how long it takes for paper application for trv? I am travellling on nov.5 next month and they recieve my application last September 29 but I'm still waiting for my passport and the stamp visa on it

I have my flight booked on demcembef 10 does anyone know if I will get my passport in time I'm really worried. I submitted and inquiry though the web forum provided by the cic call centre agent, there I attached my itinerary. Plus I also sent my itinerary with my passport so you think they will process it it time and return my passport so I will be able to leave Saturday the 11. Thanks in advance. I'm an international student btw.

Hey, thanks for sharing. I'm in the same position except I applI'd from Nov 29th and still haven't got passport request yet. Which have me wondering if I did something wrong.

Was (Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Visitor or Temporary Permit Holder [IMM 5708 ]. The form you submitted online along with the supporting documents?

Hi all,

I have applied for TRV within Canada based on my open work permit. I submitted the application on 11th July and got passport request on 15th July 2017. I send my passport through Canada Xpresspost on 18th July and it has reached Ottawa office on 20th July.

I have to apply for US visa very soon and when can I expect return back of my passport? How many days can it take Ottawa visa office to return the passport?

Hey man I have sent my my passport on 6th July they received it on 10 July but haven't mailed it back. Still I can't track it.
