Visitor Visa applied online March timeline

Hi Guys,

My parents applied for a visitor visa in March (Online) but haven't got any update since then, even the background check says not required.

Compare to the online application, I've seen people who applied via paper application getting visas on time.

Any update on March applications applied online (Indian passport holders) ??
What should we do wait or contact CIC ??

I applied online for my brother on Mar 8, biometric sent on Mar 20. No updates yet.

Applied for my Cousin online (March 15) to visit us for family gathering scheduled for April 13-14. No update still, I emailed visa office as well stating our family celebration is coming close but got the generic response below:

"Thank you for making your application to visit Canada! We have received a large number of visitor visa applications from clients wanting to visit Canada at the same time as you.


We want to assure you that your application is in process and is proceeding normally. We continue to process the applications as quickly as possible."

Paper applications are processed faster as compared to online.

Application Acknowledgment from Canada's office in Delhi: March 20th

Can you please explain the online process? I want to apply for my Mom who is visiting me in USA from India. I started the online application, and it asks me to pay the visa fee and the Biometrics fee together. But I have no clue about when and how can I take the Biometrics done for her in USA. Is it that once the application is submitted, the next step is that they will send email to take Biometrics done? Also, do I have to send the passport to the VAC in new york? I am just not sure the next steps after paying fees for the online process.
Any help will be appreciated.

Once you submitted the application by paying fees, you will receive the biometric request letter in a few days online. You could download that letter from your online account. You could take that letter to any of USCIS center or VFS centers (LA/NY) mentioned here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/where-to-give-biometrics.asp. Some centers require appointment, others allow walk-in. Since my application is not approved, I don't have concrete information about how and where to send the passport for stamping.

Finally got passport request today! Application submitted online on March 15.
