Visitor Visa - Applied on Nov 2021, no updates.

Applied for my mother's visitor visa through GC key portal on Nov 7..biometrics done by 14th Dec... Still don't have any updates.. Raised multiple webforms but no replies... Every time I check the processing timeline it seems to keep increasing thoroughly confused now should I try reapplying through the new portal or just wait hoping to get a reply.

I am in the same boat, lol! Biometrics for my parents were completed in July 2021. Waiting for CIC to complete BG check since then.

From the gcms notes I received the checks are made, the application is just waiting for an officer to review and make a decision since first week of March. I can understand backlogs and background checks taking time but not sure why decision making should take so long.

Got PPR yesterday.

Type: Visitor Visa for parents
Applied: 26 Nov 2021
Biometrics: 21 Dec 2021

Note: There was not a single update on my application all this while after submitting my application ( 5 months ). Biometrics # was there on the app but still the status was showing " we have not received your fingerprints".

And then the only update I got is " Biometrics complete and Application approved with PPR all on the same day.

New IRCC portal.

IRCC not improved from last 10 year I can see , GCMS was that time also use to take 30 day , Now also same

Atleast they give some useful info after the wait ... Webforms either have no responses or generic replies which is more frustrating.
