Visitor visa--applied a month ago-- no response

Hi

I applied for Canadian visitor visa in Feb and its a month now. I haven't heard back from them except for the initial application number. The status of my application is still open. I applied from LA, USA . is there any phone no that I can call cic and contact them form the US?? People applying from US receive their visitor visa in no time and how come mine is taking long? any reasons that any of u can think of...

Hey there!

Check what is the actual processing time for the specific embassy/ VAC .. If you call before that time has passed they won't tell you anything. If you are over the processing time (at least a week or so) you can try calling but I doubt it will change anything, sorry

You just have to be patient

VAC's call center is for asking questions related to processing. They don't have any more info than the one in myCIC.

If people call them to "ask about their status" it won't make any difference.... well maybe the caller may feel a little better....

For LA, Minimum processing time 27 business day. Currently processing 12 feb to 17 feb online TRV(VISITOR VISA) application.

Desi,

You need to check the CIC website. It has all the information you need for every scenario possible. It even has an example for the invitation letter
