Hi My brother in law is employed and my sister is a stay at home mom. My sister's family is planning to visit us this summer. In the application question is asked "Do you have a family member who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident and is 18 years or older?" - It states family member as someone who is blood related.(father mother siblings) Does my brother in law answer no to that question as he is not blood related to me or does he answer yes because his TRV application includes my sister in it.

Note - this question is asked in order to obtain a list of forms needed to be filled. It is not a question on the form for TRV.

Please advise. Thank you.

The 'Come to Canada' tool only generates the basic set of documents for a TRV application. Visa decisions are not given based on the selections you make there.

You can choose 'Yes' or even 'No. It won't make a difference to the list of suggested documents.

That said, your sister/brother-in-law must select 'Family visit' in the actual TRV application form

Thank you so much for your prompt response. I felt the same - that choosing the yes/no at that point will not matter. Again Big Thanks.
