Can anyone help me regarding the parental visa.

I have applied for parental sponsorship this year... not sure if it will be processed... If it doesn't I would like to try in next January.

Now I would like them to come on a visa. Please let me know if it is better to get a visitor visa or a super visa.

Is there any restriction that the PR shouldn't be applied when the applicant is on visitor/super visa or vice versa?

your parents can apply visitor/super visa for sure.
they're not one better than the other. which one to apply solely depends on what suits your family the best.

Thanks for your response. What I am worried of is...
1) In case they process my mother's PR this year, will they back out if I apply for a visitor visa for her now?
2) In case they don't process PR this year, am I allowed to apply for her PR next year when she will be in Canada (on visitor or super visa)
3) If I can apply for her PR even when is she is on a visitor visa in Canada, won't a visitor visa be a better bet than super visa as they might inform me that super visa is valid for a long time?

Would appreciate the feedback folks.

1. No.
2. Yes
3. Makes no difference, a super visa just allows your mom to visit for 2 years.

Your choice of SUPERVISA or not may depend on your situation . If I may share mine, I chose TRV for my parents & not SUPERVISA because my dad is already 79 when he came here last November 2013. To get SUPERVISA, it is required to get $100000 visitor insurance. And at his age I will need to pay about $5000 for him alone plus my stepmom, totals about $6000. You have to pay it when you buy the insurance tho now I hear there might be one or 2 companies offering partial payments/instalments . So now, I need to apply for their extension every 6 months.
