Visitor Renovation - A lot of doubts...

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend is here in Montreal with a student VISA, it will expires next may and we already requested a renovation or her visa as visitor. We made the request on February 27th. Her actual visa is a student multiple entries visa.

The problem is: We need to travel to Mexico after the expiration of her VISA, and i dont know if we gonna have the answer before the date of the travel. So, in this case, she will be under `Implied Status`.

My questions are:

1) Can we travel to Mexico and come back with her `Implied Status`? In this case, the officials at the airport could deny her entry?

2) The travel is through US, can US officials imply with the `implied status` and give us problems? Saying that her status is `expired`.

3) If before our trip she gets the renovation as visitor, can we leave Canada for this trip and come back? I dont know if the `renovation` of a VISA gives multiple or single entries in Canada.

About the travel itself, we go by airplane through US, and the flight back is through US too (we change the airplane in Philadelphia, US).

Thanks in advance for any help! We are very afraid about this...

1. I am assuming that she has applied for a TRV through one of the US offices? Or is she visa exempt and is just applying for an extension of her study permit?
2. No, there would be no implied status a visitor once she leaves the Canada. there is no guarantee that she will be re-admitted.
3. There is no such things renovation, I think you are talking about extension or change of status.
4. If she needs a visa for the US, then if she doesn't have one, she won't be admitted.
3. It depends if she has a US visa or not.

Hi PMM, thanks for your answer.

She applied online in Canada. She has already a student visa and is applying for a extension as a visitor. The VISA that we selected online was a visitor visa.

Yes, was a mistake, is a extension, not a renovation, sorry.

The basic question is, can she leaves Canada to go to Mexico and come back (through USA, mexico - philadelphia usa - montreal) having a visitor one entry visa?

No, not if she has already used it to enter Canada.
