I have a visitor record that has been approved for 6 months. We want to visit the states for thanksgiving. Upon traveling back to Canada, what are the chances that I will not be allowed re-entry?

We plan to leave tonight and come back Saturday night.

I will assume that by "american" you mean USA citizen.

The chances of being refused are low. Round trips to the USA are very flexible for visitor record holders.

Have you started the spousal sponsorship process?

WE have not. Because we didn't want that to be a reason for them to not let us back in.

You have it backwards. Having a PR app in process is a positive at the border, as it shows you are following the rules to live in Canada.
