Health Insurance! I need my SIN and Card

Perfect! I do have it! Received it this morning! I've been in Canada for 2 years "visiting" and i'd like to move forward so I can apply for insurance!

So! I'm currently in Montreal.. There's quite a few borders that are 45minutes to a few hours away.. I'm thinking I want to take a day and go to plattsburg and land on the way back.. How do I go about scheduling that? Or can I just come across the border and risk the chance of them turning me away?

I’d wait for one of the seniors to answer. I was under the impression that as a PR, you’re supposed to stay in Canada during the process. Whoever, citizens do not.

They may have process a CSQ for Quebec before they allow you to apply for SIN / HEALTH. It’s a step that Quebec applications have to go through and I’ve read that they may require it when landing.

Based off other timelines, we’re at the finish line. We were not expecting this. I reached out to my neighbor who I know... and we will see. But I already had letters from friends and family and people I met in Canada. So at this point- I have no idea.

I do. But in the email, Simon says “we have no way to prove that she’s been living there with you, so we can’t write a letter.” So I don’t think that will help my case.

Exactly this! We’ve already extended our visitor record twice! You’d think they’d see! Logically, it doesn’t make sense.. But proof is proof... I’m going to send again every thing we have and write a letter. Hopefully something sticks and the officer approves. If not, we will get married...

At this point: I just want to know how we either remedy this, or reapply. When / If they send us a denial can we get married and reapply right away? Will we be considered red flag after getting a denial for common-law app?
