VISITOR RECORD HOLDER GOT A STUDENT PERMIT APPROVAL ( POE INTRODUCTION LETTER)

Hello, I had a PGWP that expired October 30th and knowing it would be expiring, I applied to get a study permit for Winter 2025 ( 8 months program) and also a visitor record to allow me stay in Canada from October 30th to the beginning of the Winter session. The visitor record was issued for october 10th 2024 to expire April 8th 2025 and I have received the physical copy ( My TRV on my passport is valid till July 2026).

I just got the POE introduction letter and I am little confused on how to get the physical study permit as I am currently in canada with a visitor record permit and will not be coming into the country. Please kindly advise

Assume you applied for a study permit through an office outside of Canada?

Thanks so much for the quick reply! The letter of introduction just has a validity date of 2025/12/31 .. so I would like to know when do you think is an appropriate time to go Flagpole as the college resumes Jan 6th 2025

No.. I applied when I was on PGWP in Canada

Two weeks prior. You cannot work until after January 6 and if permit allows it.

I live in Toronto - Union Station and just need suggestions on what bus to take - will it be a bus going to New York or will it be a bus to the border directly? Confused right now. Please advise . I don’t know how you will get there. If you don’t have a car, you will have to walk across the border and flagpole.

Get to Niagara Falls and have an Uber/taxi take you as far as they can to the border and you’ll need to walk. Flagpoling may not be available everyday and there may be a limited number of spots per day. Verify with border the week you plan on going.

Take a GO train from Union Station to Niagara Falls . Theres a local bus that’ll take you to the town / Falls. Walk across
