I’ve just been watching a lot of Border Security to point that it got me anxious
I know what you mean, i did the same thing when my wife was coming to visit me. We were already married and I had already applied for her PR, they still let her through.

They’re some person that told me that officers want to see a reciprocal visit. Instead of my gf visiting me, I should visit or else she won’t be allowed entry. I don’t understand how dumb this thing is. How can I visit if I have school to finish?

well good luck, worst case scenario with Japanese and Canadian passports respectively you guys have strong passports and can meet each other pretty much anywhere.

I honestly don’t think it’s necessary tho unless if I’m applying for spousal sponsorship then it’s needed. They require you to meet your significant other’s parents to consider the relationship genuine. I don’t know but that’s dumb I have to get off the internet and focus my attention to other things. I think she should be okay, she has no reason staying in Canada because she will have her permanent work this April. She’s also bringing her job letter from her work in Japan and a return ticket.

My gf shortened her visit to just 2.5 weeks because she is scared of the immigration. She decided to just have a shorter visit. It’s just sad

They will likely give her 6 months upon entry, she can always extend her plane ticket after to 6 months, plans change all the time.

She is scared because of her past experience so she just want to shorten it and fly back to Japan after 2 weeks. Our plan of going Toronto will be cancelled.

yeah but once she gets in and if they give her 6 months you can always change it later. Its nothing negative if they give you 6 months and you decide to stay longer. Plans change.

I guess so just to avoid further questioning from the officers. We decided to just make it 2 weeks.

Is it advisable to get her bring the acceptance letter from her work. Stating that she has a job starting this April 2023.

Im sure it will help. Make sure she doesnt have documents like resume or diplomas etc because a normal traveller doesnt travel with those documents. It could look like shes looking for a job or trying to move.

Oh okay, she’s only bringing her return ticket and job acceptance letter (translated from a certified translator) with her.
Edit: Will she be likely sent to secondary again because 3 months between visit? Even just 2 weeks? Do you think?
