Hi, I am now visiting Canada with a TRV. I applied for a university and got admitted. Now I want to use the admission letter to apply for a study permit.

Since I am now in Canada, I was wondering if I can apply for the study permit in North America (US or Mexico) instead of mailing my application to my home country (takes longer time).

I asked CIC and it says besides my home country, I can either mail my application to another country where I have been lawfully admitted, or to the visa application centre in LA,US. I am not sure what "lawfully admitted" means. Does anyone have related experience and answer my question?

You could apply online which is the easiest and most convienent method.
