Hello,
My fiance has been in Canada a year (as of sep 20 with valid visitor visa) and is now staying on an implied status (we re-applied in late July, but there is a tremendous wait on applications) as we wait to hear back from the gov.
I make enough to support him ($45,000 yr) and myself, and he has no criminal record.
I planned a trip for us in June to go to Las Vegas in November. If we go, he loses his implied status. Has anyone done this before and had trouble re-entering Canada? I don't want him to get stuck in the US, but I also don't want to miss out on my vacation.
Any help would be great thank you.

If your bf is a US citizen he can't have a "visitor visa" as he is from a visa exempt country. Most probably you refer to a visitor status. I would assume you reapplied for an extension to his stay, thus in the meantime he is staying with an implied status.

So.... he will be asked why he has been staying so long, and he should be prepared to show evidence on his intentions. Fortunately you have applied and all your documents are in order, so you should carry evidence from the application for extension and anything else that shows your intentions and how you plan to achieve them. Prepare properly.

Thank you,

We decided not to risk it, and I cancelled the vacation. Thankfully I got a full refund.
